The leader of San Antonio Lithuanian Community Venice Grantham forwarded this information to Houston Lithuanians. Since there might be some folks who do not participate in the activities of San Antonio Lithuanian Community, but might be interested in this particular event - Texas Folklife Festival - in which Lithuanians will have a booth - I thought I will reprint the info here:
San Antonio Lietuviu Bendruomenes pirmininke Venice Grantham persiunte sia informacija Houstono lietuviams.

Working in the booth consists of talking to people about Lithuania-showing them where it is on the map (hanging in display), handing out literature about our crafts to people who are interested, sports-minded people can talk about the Lithuanian sports players on one of our displays, there is egg-etching for adults only, and the most popular craft is finger-weaving. This is done with (3) or (5) strings of different colors of yarn. We teach them how to make a friendship bracelet and they take it with them. There are many who come back year after year to make them, youngsters and adults. The Girl Scouts and Home-schooled
students will be helping in this area.
Folklife Festival 2010
I realize the work schedule may be difficult for some. I appreciate any portion of time you can spend with us. It is always fun to talk to people and share our culture. Many have said that our booth is the most educational booth at the festival. If you do not have a lot of knowledge about Lithuania…just give me a few minutes with you! Many things are self explanatory as there are display signs with them. Gina and Don Skucas or Venice will be there at all times to be available for what ever comes up.
Our booth is located at the same space on the Alamo Dome side of the Institute of Texan Cultures, facing Bowie Street and IH 37 in San Antonio. Coming from the main floor facing the Alamo Dome, of the outside patio that surrounds the institute, down the steps and to your right down a few more steps and we are under the big beautiful shade tree.
